Job Description

About the role:

We are currently seeking a skilled Excavator Operator to join the team on afternoon shifts at Chipping Norton.

The hours are Monday to Friday 2.30pm to 11.30pm with overtime available and a 4-6 hour working day available on Saturdays. 

Working as part of the production team at our recycling facility, the Excavator Operator is responsible for the sorting of waste materials, loading of trucks with recycled material and assisting to push up incoming material. This position is also responsible for the feeding of raw material into the recycling plant and emptying material from bays, additionally stock piling, ripping, loading trucks and preparation for material processing, to ensuring that the plant continues to run efficiently to meet production targets.

Desired Skills and Experience

Role Responsibilities: 

Excavator:

  • Stock piling.
  • Digging holes and trenches.
  • Preparation and sorting of materials for processing.
  • Loading of trucks; and
  • Drainage work.

General Maintenance & Cleaning: 

  • Report repair issues to the Supervisor.
  • Housekeeping of plant & immediate area.
  • Conduct maintenance and refuelling of machine daily.
  • Maintain material quality; and
  • Keeping the loader bucket clean to avoid cross contamination of products.

Safety Focus: 

  • Conduct all tasks in a safe manner.
  • Report any hazards.
  • Ensure correct PPE is always worn; and
  • Follow all relevant safety policies and procedures.
